Bitcoin miner Greenidge expands bitcoin mining operations in Mississippi
Bitcoin miner Greenidge Generation Holdings Inc. has expanded its bitcoin mining operations by opening a new mine in Mississippi. The mine, which went live on July 1, 2024, has 2,400 bitcoin miners and is expected to add further capacity in the coming months. The site currently has 8.50 trillion watts of power capacity and plans to add another 25 trillion watts in the next 12 months.
With the addition of the Mississippi mine, Greenidge currently operates four bitcoin mining facilities in the United States and Canada with a combined generating capacity of 122 trillion watts and approximately 8,000 mining rigs. The company further noted that it is also exploring opportunities to further develop, buy, lease or sell properties to support its growth strategy.
