US Senator Bill Hagerty: Democrats' approach to the crypto industry is too centralized and restrictive
On July 13, Senator Bill Hagerty, a member of the U.S. Senate Banking and Foreign Relations Committee, discussed several key issues in an interview with Bloomberg, including the future of cryptocurrencies under a potential second Trump administration.
Referring to Mr. Trump's pro-cryptocurrency stance, Mr. Hagerty emphasised its alignment with the recent Republican platform. He sees cryptocurrencies as a key issue in the upcoming November election. "I've spent a lot of time talking to the [former] president about the industry and I think just this week we have a shared vision on the Republican platform."
Hagerty criticized the Democratic Party's approach to cryptocurrency, calling it too centralized and restrictive. He argued that Democrats are opposed to the decentralized nature of crypto technology. "Innovation will happen. Crypto technology has tremendous potential for the United States. We have the innovation DNA to surpass any other country in this regard. We should take advantage of this and create an ecosystem that allows for this," he further noted.
