Analysis: Tokenized U.S. Treasury is expected to reach $3 billion by the end of 2024
On July 16th, 21.co strategist Tom Wan said in a post on X that the scale of tokenized US Treasury bonds is expected to reach 3 billion US dollars by the end of 2024. There is a trend in the industry that DAOs of DeFi projects will disperse their funds into RWA, including stablecoins and tokenized US Treasury bonds.
With the expiration of the tokenized US Treasury, there are more than 15 products on the EVM chain, reaching an asset management size of nearly $2 billion, and the DAO has begun to include income products such as BUIDL, USTB, USDY, and USDM in its treasury.
In the long run, this trend will continue. Current projects employing this strategy include:
- Arbitrum allocates 35 million ARBs (27 million USD);
- MakerDAO allocates 1 billion USD.
With both projects allocating funds to tokenized Treasuries, the total market capitalization of tokenized Treasuries is expected to increase to more than $3 billion by the end of 2024.
