Facet is undergoing a v2 upgrade to migrate all v1 contracts and reprocess their transactions
On July 16, Facet, a decentralized computing platform on the Ethereum chain, released a statement on X saying that it is undergoing a v2 upgrade.
The team decided to migrate all the "state" of Facet v1 to v2, not just snapshot v1 and build a "genesis block", but take a stricter (atomic) approach at the transaction level: convert all v1 contracts to v2 and reprocess all transactions that have occurred on Facet since the first block of v1 (over 500,000 transactions, spanning about 1.50 million blocks). This ensures a robust, atomic migration of transactions. This approach provides a more secure migration, maintaining the integrity of Facet.
Currently, the team is actively testing this migration process by replaying all Facet transactions with the new Facet v2 node. Facet is committed to providing the v2 version as a permissionless solution to the Ethereum scaling challenge.
In addition, the white paper will be released soon.
