Russian State Duma official: International CBDC settlement will become "normal" within 5 years
Anatoly Aksakov, chairperson of the Russian State Duma's financial marekt committee, predicted that in the next five years, international trade will migrate to CBDCs for settlement. Aksakov stressed that not many countries have made progress using these digital currencies, but he believes the issue will be resolved soon.
Aksakov explained that while technological solutions in this regard remain unavailable, CBDCs will become the norm for these transactions.
Aksakov also offered insight into how Russia will use the upcoming CBDC (digital ruble) as part of its trade with friendly countries. He declared: "Digital rubles may be used for Global Payments as early as next year, with the first settlements, but not in the first half of the year."
