RippleCEO: Expressing concern about the divide between cryptocurrency parties in the United States, calling for bipartisan cooperation
On July 18th, at Fortune's tech brainstorming conference 2024 on Tuesday, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed his concern about the partisan divide in cryptocurrencies in the United States. "As a kid growing up in Kansas, I was shocked that such a technology could become a partisan issue," he said. Garlinghouse questioned why innovations aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiency could be politicised. He decried the partisan divide in crypto innovation, particularly in response to Senator Elizabeth Warren's characterization of cryptocurrencies as tools of illegal activity. Garlinghouse called for bipartisan cooperation to fully exploit the advantages of cryptocurrencies.
