WazirX: Over 500 exchanges have been contacted to block identified addresses
On July 19, Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX posted on the X platform that WazirX has reported the incident to the police and taken additional legal action after responding to the cyber attack incident, and will continue to provide updates to the community.
In terms of immediate action: The company has reported the incident to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In), and has contacted over 500 exchanges to block identified addresses. Many exchanges are cooperating, and WazirX is actively working with them to provide additional resources to assist with recovery efforts.
The action plan includes tracing stolen funds, recovering customer assets and conducting deeper analysis of cyber attacks. WazirX is working with forensic experts and law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend perpetrators.
