Report: About 562 million People Worldwide Own Cryptocurrencies, Up About 33% From 2023
According to a recent report by digital currency payment solutions provider Triple-A, around 562 million people worldwide will own cryptocurrencies in 2024, accounting for around 6.8% of the global population, an increase of around 33% from the 420 million in 2023. Among them, Asia leads the way in cryptocurrency ownership, with an estimated 326.80 million people owning cryptocurrencies, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023.
In addition, among all age groups, people aged 24-35 own the highest proportion of cryptocurrencies; while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the highest rate of cryptocurrency adoption, with 25.3% of the population owning some cryptocurrency asset.
