68% of Democratic delegates support Kamala Harris
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the support of delegates to secure the threshold needed for the Democratic nomination for president. As of the time of this article's publication, Harris has secured 2,668 delegates committed, according to an unofficial survey of Democratic delegates by The Associated Press. The results suggest she could become the Democratic nominee to run against Republican nominee Donald Trump. Delegates who initially endorsed Harris still need to formally vote in the coming weeks. They are expected to name a formal candidate before the Democratic National Convention on August 7.
