The market value of bitcoin mining stocks has increased by billions of dollars in the past two weeks
The market capitalization of major cryptocurrency mining stocks has risen significantly over the past two weeks, with most companies achieving double-digit percentage gains. Marathon Digital (ticker MARA), whose market capitalization jumped from $5.51 billion on July 8 to $7.56 billion this weekend, grew more than 37% in five days and still maintained a 27% gain in the 11 days to July 19. Riot Platforms (RIOT) followed a similar pattern, climbing from $2.78 billion to $3.67 billion, posting a 32% weekly net gain in the second week of July, before closing at $3.16 billion at the end of last week. Hut 8 Mining (HUT) saw a smaller increase, rising 11% from $1.58 billion two weeks ago to $1.76 billion by the end of the week.
