Trump team files complaint over Harris inheriting $96 million Biden campaign funds
The Trump campaign has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that Mr. Biden's transfer of $96 million in campaign funds to Mr. Harris was illegal, according to foreign media. David Warrington, a lawyer for the Trump campaign, called the move "a brazen cash grab that would constitute the largest overdonation and most serious violation in the history of the Federal Campaign Act". Shortly after Mr. Biden dropped out and named Mr. Harris as his preferred successor, the latter took over the bank accounts of Mr. Biden's campaign committee. Steve Roberts, a lawyer who has represented Republican candidates, said the argument against the transfer was "wishful thinking" by his Republican colleagues. The Harris campaign said the complaint would not affect its fundraising or spending.
