Loopring: Some smart wallets have been vulnerable and are working with law enforcement and security teams to track down the attackers
Loopring, the Ethereum Layer 2 protocol, said in a post on social media that the Loopring smart wallet was attacked, hours after some Loopring smart wallets suffered security bugs. The attack specifically targeted wallets with only one Guardian, especially those using the official Loopring Guardian. The hackers initiated the recovery process, posing as the wallet owner to reset ownership and withdraw assets.
The attack successfully compromised the 2FA service of Luyin Protocol, enabling the hacker to impersonate the wallet owner and obtain recovery approval from the official guardian. The attacker then transferred the assets from the affected wallet.
We are actively working with Mist security experts to determine how our 2FA service was compromised. To protect our users, we have temporarily suspended Guardian-related and 2FA-related operations. Following this move, the attack has been halted. Roadprint Protocol is working with law enforcement and professional security teams to track down the attackers. We will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
