Bitfarms Adopts New "Poison Pill" to Stop Riot's Hostile Takeover Attempts
Bitcoin miner Bitfarms has adopted a new "poison pill" to help prevent Riot from acquiring the company after Riot Platforms sued and won over its first shareholders' equity plan. Riot announced on Wednesday that the original "poison pill" implemented by Bitfarms' board had been stopped immediately after an application to the Ontario capital markets court. Adoption of the new "poison pill" still needs to be approved by the Toronto Stock Exchange, and Riot may apply again to the court to repeal the plan.
