According to a preview of Gemini's 2024 State of Cryptocurrency Survey, one in five Americans surveyed own cryptocurrencies. The survey also revealed that 73% of Americans who own cryptocurrencies "plan to consider a candidate's stance on cryptocurrencies when voting for the next president of the United States". The survey was conducted by Data-Driven Consulting Group on behalf of Gemini and surveyed 1,200 Americans between May 23, 2023 and June 28, 2024, of which 233 cryptocurrency holders were among the 1,200 Americans surveyed. Gemini also found that 38% of Americans who do not own cryptocurrencies say they are concerned about how the law applies to the industry, which makes them reluctant to get involved. The survey revealed that nearly half of respondents who do not own cryptocurrencies say that cryptocurrencies need to be more regulated.
