Russia has introduced a bill to regulate cryptocurrency mining
On July 27th, the Russian State Duma (parliament) has introduced a bill to regulate cryptocurrency mining, aimed at curbing illegal activities and promoting investment and employment. The bill, proposed by the chairperson of the Duma financial marekt committee and supported by key deputies, requires strict guidance for miners, including registration and government supervision. The bill also needs to go through two readings before it can be fully passed into law. During the reading, amendments may be proposed and discussed before the final vote. If passed, the law will come into force on September 1st. Supporters of the bill argue that such regulation will mitigate the risks associated with illegal mining activities and increase the transparency of the law, thus attracting investment and creating jobs in the industry.
