Cryptocurrency supporters in the U.S. House of Representatives are calling for a crypto-friendly party platform
More than a dozen Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives and a long list of candidates for congressional seats are pushing their national committees to take a pro-cryptocurrency stance, according to a letter they sent out Saturday. Lawmakers including Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Wiley Nickel (D-NJ), Ritchie Torres (D-NY) and others signed the letter calling for a "forward-looking approach" to digital assets, requiring their parties to add supportive language to their official platform, pick a pro-cryptocurrency vice presidential candidate and replace Securities and Exchange Commission Chairperson Gary Gensler with a pro-cryptocurrency agency head.
