Israeli airstrikes in the Lebanese capital Beirut target Hezbollah commanders

On July 31st, in response to Saturday's attack on the Golan Heights, the Israeli army launched an airstrike in the Lebanese capital Beirut, targeting a Hezbollah commander. The IDF said it was targeting "the Hezbollah commander who killed children and many other Israeli civilians in Majdal Shams". Israel blamed Hezbollah for the weekend attack. The IDF said that "there is no change in the defense guidelines of the rear command at this time. If there is any change, an update will be issued".
