In July 2024, more than 20 typical security incidents occurred, and the total loss caused by hacking, phishing fraud and Rug Pull reached 286 million US dollars, an increase of about 56.3% over June. Among them, the attack incident was about 271 million US dollars, an increase of about 92.2%; the phishing fraud incident was about 12.10 million US dollars, a decrease of about 67.6%; the Rug Pull incident was about 3.58 million US dollars, a decrease of about 13.1%.
The largest hacking incident in July came from Indian exchange WazirX, which lost about 230 million US dollars, accounting for 85% of the amount of attacks in the month. The second largest attack incident was LI.FI lost about 11.60 million US dollars due to contract vulnerabilities. There are still many phishing scams and rug pull incidents exceeding one million US dollars this month, and users need to be vigilant.
