Harris received enough votes to seal the Democratic presidential nomination

Vice President Kamala Harris has secured enough votes from Democratic delegates to become the Democratic nominee for president, U.S. Democratic National Committee Chairperson Jamie Harrison said Friday. The online voting process didn't end until Monday, but it marked her crossing the threshold to secure a majority of delegates' votes. "I am honored to be the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee," Harris said on a conference call with supporters. Harris has yet to choose her running mate and is expected to interview candidates over the weekend.
