Google Acquires Character. AI for $2.50 billion and Joins Its Team
On August 3rd, according to Jin Ten, the AI digital human unicorn company Character.AI announced that Google (GOOG. O) has paid the model licensing fee with the Character.AI, and will let Character.AI co-founder and CEO Noam Shazel, and President Daniel de Freitas, as well as Character's employees engaged in model training and voice artificial intelligence (about 30 of 130 employees) join Google to participate in the Gemini AI project. According to reports, Character.AI's management told employees that the investor's stock will be acquired at a valuation of about $88 per share. Google's overall acquisition of Character.AI will be worth more than $2.50 billion.
