Sam Altman questions WSJ report that "OpenAI progress is behind schedule and costly"
Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, wrote on X: "I think the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is the best newspaper in America right now, but a few hours after we announced the o3 model, they published an article titled'The Next Great Leap in AI Is Behind Schedule and Crazy Expensive '?!"
Previously, OpenAI is currently developing a new generation of reasoning models that will think more deeply about user questions. In terms of naming, it may skip the "o2" naming and use "o3" directly in order to avoid the trademark conflict of British telecom operator O2.
