British media: Musk calls for mandatory auctions of OpenAI shares in California and Delaware

On January 10, according to the Financial Times, a lawyer for Elon Musk called on the attorneys general of California and Delaware to force OpenAI to auction off its large stake in the company, intensifying a bitter fight with the company's CEO Sam Altman. According to the report, Musk's lawyer, Marc Toberoff, sent a letter to the top legal officials of the states on behalf of large artificial intelligence investors expressing his desire to participate in the open and competitive invite tenders process for OpenAI's stake. According to a person familiar with OpenAI's thinking, OpenAI has no such auction plans. They added that the Musk camp is just "trying to create more confusion".
