Report: The complex operation of crypto wallets has hindered the development of Web3 games to some extent
On October 8th, Web3 gaming protocol Elympics partnered with the Blockchain Gaming Alliance (BGA) and blockchain game data tracker PlayToEarn to produce an industry report titled: The Future of Web3 Gaming is Competitive: Global Gaming Report 2024.
The report looked at the current state of blockchain gaming and surveyed 1,000 gamers worldwide to gather their views on Web3 gaming. More than 10% of respondents said that the complexity of the process of using a cryptocurrency wallet was the main reason they did not play Web3 games. Meanwhile, 7.3% of respondents said they did not understand the value of Web3 gaming.
Another 2.4% of players said they are satisfied with Web2 games. Furthermore, 9.1% of participants said that blockchain-based games do not appeal to them. When asked why they play games, many participants stated that airdrops and the possibility of making money are their main reasons. Another popular reason is the opportunity to compete with other players.
