Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse wrote in response to the SEC's $125 million fine, which was announced by a US judge in the SEC lawsuit: "The SEC had previously demanded $2 billion in damages, and the court found that they had overacted and reduced their request by approximately 94%. We respect the court's decision and are determined to continue to grow our company. This is a victory for Ripple, the industry, and the rule of law. The SEC's resistance to the entire XRP community has disappeared."
