Cboe resubmits application to list spot bitcoin ETF options, indicating that the SEC may be considering it
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) resubmitted its application to list options on a spot bitcoin ETF late Thursday, indicating that the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) may be involved in the process.
Earlier on Thursday, Bloomberg analyst James Seyfarrt said he expects spot bitcoin ETF options to be available in the fourth quarter. Seyffart posted on X: The deadline for the SEC to make a final decision is approximately September 21, but after that, more steps are still required from the OCC and CFTC. However, immediately after, the Miami International Stock Exchange (MIAXPEARL) and the BOX Exchange withdrew their applications to list spot bitcoin ETF options based on filings with the SEC.
