Symbiotic plans to launch mainnet in the third quarter
Symbiotic, a re-staking protocol, has launched its development network on the Ethereum Holesky testnet, with plans to release the mainnet later in the third quarter. Symbiotic allows users to deposit assets to protect third-party protocols, competing with EigenLayer.
The deployment includes the Symbiotic core contract, including its vault and collateral system, which allows any asset to be re-pledged to protect third-party agreements. The team notes that projects including Ethena, LayerZero, and Bolt are already exploring the platform, which also has a customizable, modular design that can accommodate any combination of tokens as collateral for re-pledge.
