U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer: Hopes to use AI regulation as a model to get some crypto bills passed in the Senate and into law by the end of the year

According to Forbes reporter Eleanor Terrett at X, New York State Senator Chuck Schumer has revealed his goal for crypto regulation, which he hopes will be modelled on AI regulation to have some crypto bills passed and passed into law in the Senate by the end of the year. Chuck Schumer said: "My goal is to have some bills passed in the Senate and become law by the end of this year, and I believe we can achieve that goal. I think we should strike a balance between promoting innovation and providing common sense guardrails for cryptocurrencies. This is similar to the approach we are taking with another innovative technology, artificial intelligence. When it comes to artificial intelligence or cryptocurrencies, we also need to provide some guardrails to keep users of this technology safe, maintain our national security, and ensure that this technology is not abused by criminal organizations or other nefarious actors at the expense of the public good. Only Congress has the ability to provide this balanced regulation."
