Bitcoin Sidechain Developer Releases BitVM2 White Paper, Enhancing Scalability
BOB co-founder Alexei Zamyatin said in a post on social media that Bitcoin scaling developers have released a new white paper on BitVM2, version 2 of the Bitcoin Virtual Machine, and the updated BitVM Bridge. The white paper details the latest efforts to increase the efficiency of transactions within the Bitcoin network by improving transaction processing capabilities and, in some cases, updating encryption methods.
The white paper states that the main goal of BitVM2 is to increase the transactional capacity of Bitcoin without modifying the Bitcoin core code or principles such as decentralization. Unlike V1, BitVM2 introduces a permissionless system that allows any user to challenge suspicious transactions. Additionally, the white paper also mentions improvements to the BitVM Bridge that focus on lowering capital requirements and shortening asset lock-up periods. These improvements support cross-chain between Bitcoin and Rollup.
As previously reported, ZeroSync project owner and BitVM creator Robin Linus (who also worked on the V2 version) first introduced BitVM last October.
