Franklin Templeton Seeks Securities Exchange Commission Approval for Its Cryptocurrency Index ETF
Asset management firm Franklin Templeton has expanded its presence in the cryptocurrency market by filing an S-1 petition with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). The application, filed Aug. 16, seeks approval to launch a new cryptocurrency index exchange-traded fund (ETF) that holds Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to the S-1 filing, the ETF will track the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, initially focusing on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). The filing also indicates that the fund may include more cryptoassets in the future, depending on regulatory changes and market dynamics.
