BNS: Exclusive discounts will be offered to users to acquire new names for free on Basenames
Base Name Service (BNS) said in a post on X: "With the launch of Basenames, Base Name Service (BNS) is being gradually shut down to ensure that every Base user has a unified name service and on-chain identity experience.
We have been working closely with the Base team to ensure that existing users benefit the most. As part of this, we have agreed to offer exclusive discounts to all users, making it easier for users to get new names for free on the Basenames platform by simply connecting to the same wallet that contains the BNS name.
Note: All discounts will apply after the Dutch auction period, which will be launched after 36 hours. "
Yesterday, Jesse Pollak, head of protocols at Base, said on the X platform: "To emphasize: Basenames belong to everyone. That's why we're starting with a 36-hour full-chain Dutch auction to make sure they don't all get bought by robots."
