Franklin Templeton CEO: Traditional Finance Underestimated the Huge Scale of Bitcoin
August 22 news, Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson said at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium in Jackson Hole that 30% of her daily work is spent researching disruptive technologies, as her main focus is on positioning companies for the next generation, which includes digital assets, which Johnson believes is one of the two obvious trends she doesn't want to miss (the other being artificial intelligence). "What's crazy to me is that in traditional finance, they don't know the amount and transaction volume of [bitcoin]," Johnson added.
Bitcoin will process more than $36.60 trillion in transactions in 2023, far more than MasterCard ($9 trillion) and Visa ($14.80 trillion). Johnson believes that the traditional financial sector knows almost nothing about Bitcoin and its huge transaction volume, "the whole ecosystem almost ignores a parallel, huge ecosystem".
