NFL players file lawsuit against DraftKings alleging nearly $65 million in arrears
The NFL Players Union (NFLPA) has filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York against sports betting company DraftKings, alleging it violated a licensing agreement to use portraits of NFL players and defaulted on payments of nearly $65 million. The move comes after DraftKings canceled its NFT gaming experience due to "legal developments" in connection with a class action lawsuit over whether the NFT was an unregistered security. The NFLPA noted that five DraftKings executives have received a combined $261 million in compensation since 2021, four times the amount owed by the company.
