US prosecutor refutes FTX executive Ryan Salame allegations: prosecution of significant others is fair
Federal prosecutors have rebutted the charges against FTX executive Ryan Salame, saying they did not breach the terms of their plea deal with the former FTX executive that they would close the criminal investigation into Salame's significant other, Michelle Bond, the mother of her children. Prosecutors say they never made any such promises to Ryan Salame, formal or informal, and that their prosecution of Michelle Bond was fair.
In a scathing 32-page memo filed Thursday, prosecutors urged U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan for the Southern District of New York to dismiss Salame's recent request to enforce the terms of his plea deal or to dismiss his plea and vacate his sentence, calling it a "shameless and self-serving attempt to violate his guilty plea and conviction... and undermine the lawful prosecution of Michelle Bond."
It is reported that the relevant hearing is scheduled for September 12, 2024.
