Singapore Parliament Discusses Worldcoin Account Abuse and Privacy Risks
Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Ngan Kim Yong expressed concerns in Parliament about the risks of Worldcoin's operations in Singapore, including the potential for money laundering through the sale of accounts.
He stressed that even though Worldcoin does not provide payment services under current law, buying and selling accounts could constitute an offence. The investigation is still ongoing and warned the public not to transfer accounts because of data privacy risks and criminal abuse.
