Paradigm Research Lead Researcher Proposes MEV Tax
Dan Robinson, head of research at Paradigm, and Dave White, research partner, have proposed a MEV tax that would allow an arbitrary application to capture its MEV, preserving composability. This mechanism can now be used on OP Stack L2 such as OP Mainnet, Base, and Blast. The two researchers said this could be seen as allowing any application on the chain to run its own custom MEV auctions without any own off-chain infrastructure, simply connecting to a single shared auction run by a block proponent, encouraging L2 to consider using prioritization (OPStack supports it by default), and encouraging applications to experiment with a MEV tax if supported.
