TON Network has launched a penalty mechanism system for validators
On September 13, the TON validator channel posted that the penalty mechanism system for validators has been launched on September 9. The TON network analyzes the number of blocks that a validator node should process and the actual number of blocks processed in a specific time through the checkloadall command in the little-client tool. If the number of blocks processed by a validator node is less than 90% of the expected number, the node is considered to be underperforming and should be punished.
The fine is fixed at 101TON, which is approximately equal to the income of the verification node per round. The fine will be distributed to other verification nodes, deducting network fees and a small reward (about 8TON) for the complaint initiator.
TON Networks' move is to address network outages caused by two previous surges in DOGS transactions in August.
