A man has been sentenced to 47 years in prison for violent home invasion and cryptocurrency robbery
On September 15, according to the Department of Justice website, a Florida man has been sentenced to 47 years in prison for playing a leading role in a series of burglary schemes targeting cryptocurrencies. A total of 12 accomplices were sentenced for participating in the crime. Remy Ra St Felix, 25, of West Palm Beach, and his accomplices stole more than $3.50 million in cryptocurrency from their victims through SIM card swapping and violent burglary. The criminal gang used plastic cables to bind the victims, pointed guns at the victims and assaulted them. They forced victims to provide access to computers and cryptocurrency trading accounts, steal cryptocurrencies through decentralized financial platforms, and launder money. St Felix was eventually sentenced to 47 years in prison for playing a leading role in the crime, Seemungal was sentenced to 20 years, and other accomplices were sentenced to 5 to 20 years in prison.
