FBI: Trump suspected of "assassination attempt" in Florida
On September 15, local time, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a statement saying that the shooting incident near the golf club owned by former US President and Republican presidential candidate Trump in West Palm Beach, Florida, was suspected to be a "failed assassination attempt" against Trump, and the department was investigating.
After the shooting incident, Trump's campaign released a statement saying that Trump is currently safe.
According to law enforcement sources familiar with the matter, while Trump was playing golf that day, a man with a gun appeared near the course. Secret Service agents fired at the suspect with the weapon for protection purposes. The suspect drove away and was later arrested. Some officials believe that the suspect's target is Trump.
That followed a "failed assassination attempt" on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in which Mr. Trump injured his right ear, killing one spectator and seriously injuring two others.
