Former Celsius CEO seeks to call six witnesses to testify as he faces 115 years in prison
On September 17, according to The Block, former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky asked to call six witnesses who had worked at the crypto company to testify for him, as he could face more than 100 years in prison.
Mashinsky was arrested last year and prosecutors accused him of defrauding clients and misleading Celsius about its profitability. In a memo filed by his lawyers on Friday, he asked the New York District Court to allow these witnesses, including the crypto lending platform's chief financial officer and chief revenue officer, to testify at his criminal trial.
Many of the witnesses to be called live outside the United States, lawyers said, and Mashinsky's lawyers said in the memo that he had no intention of harming anyone.
