Hong Kong media: CZ will be released from prison or will go to Dubai, but Binance may face legal challenges again
According to Hong Kong media reports, the founder and former CEO of virtual asset trading platform Binance, CZ, was sentenced to four months in prison by the US federal court in April this year and was imprisoned in California at the end of May. After four months of imprisonment, CZ plans to be released from prison on September 29 (Sunday). It is expected that Zhao Changpeng will return to Dubai to reunite with his family after his release.
Despite facing hefty fines, CZ remains on Forbes' list of the richest cryptocurrency billionaires. As of April this year, he ranked 50th with a fortune of 33 billion US dollars (about 257.40 billion Hong Kong dollars), making him the richest person in US federal prison. However, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has once again filed a lawsuit against Binance, accusing it of violating federal securities laws. Although Zhao Changpeng is about to be released from prison, Binance may face another legal challenge.
