CNN poll: Harris and Trump are neck and neck in the presidential race
Polling by CNN and polling agency SSRS shows a very close race between US Vice President Harris and former US President Trump, with Harris' support based on stronger personal appeal, while Trump has hardcore voters and a broad advantage in handling the economy, despite less positive perceptions of himself, his empathy and temperament. The poll showed Harris at 48% and Trump at 47%, a gap that suggests there is no clear front-runner in this race. The poll also showed that Harris and Trump were roughly evenly matched among independent voters - Harris at 45 percent and Trump at 41 percent - with the gender gap largely concentrated among independent voters.
