Reuters/Ipsos poll: Harris extends lead over Trump
A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday showed Vice President Harris leading former US President Donald Trump by 47% to 40% ahead of the November US Presidential Election, as she appeared to erode Trump's edge on the economy and jobs. When asked which candidate did better on the "economy, unemployment and jobs" issue, some 43% of voters chose Trump, while 41% chose Harris. Trump's advantage on the topic is 2 points, while he led by 3 points in the August poll and by 11 points shortly after Harris launched his campaign in late July. While national polls provide important signals about voter opinion, the outcome of each state's electoral college determines who wins, and it may be the seven swing states that are decisive.
