They smashed a local fraudulent group involved in cryptocurrency and arrested 27 people, with a total amount of 360 million Hong Kong dollars. New Territories South Regional Crime Headquarters Superintendent Yiu Yongqin said that the fraudulent group mainly used online love to lure victims to invest in cryptocurrency. The group would hire technology experts, including graduates majoring in digital media from local universities, to provide technical support. They also worked with overseas fraudsters to build a fake cryptocurrency platform.
