Federal Reserve's Bostic: U.S. election uncertainty could weigh on investment

Raphael Bostic, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, said the uncertainty surrounding the US Presidential Election could cause some businesses and consumers to delay making investment and spending decisions. "You're likely to see some business activity stagnating, especially when you're thinking about investments," he said Friday at an event with high school students in Jackson, Miss. "The same goes for families. With inflation being high, families are feeling a little bit of a struggle," he said. Bostic reiterated that Federal Reserve officials will not adjust their monetary policy approach because of the presidential election.
