Securitize CEO Calls for Clearer Regulation of Digital Assets at U.S. House Financial Services Hearing
Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo testified at a hearing before the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Fintech, and Inclusion, calling for clearer regulatory rules for digital assets and expanded privileges for special purpose broker-dealers (SPBDs) dealing with digital assets to prevent the U.S. from falling behind Europe. Carlos Domingo said lawmakers must provide a clearer definition of digital assets and tokenized securities to distinguish them from other digital assets, and he also said that both public and permissionless blockchains, as well as private and permissioned blockchains, must be able to support tokenized securities.
