The lawsuit alleges that Character.AI chatbot platform was poorly designed and created security risks, and calls its products "extremely dangerous". In response, Character.AI has taken steps to update security protocols to add age restrictions and user monitoring features. Schwartz argued that legal challenges to expressive content are contrary to constitutional rights, and compared the case to past moral scares of new media.
