Chongqing concludes appeal case of drug trafficking using "Internet + virtual currency + logistics mailing", defendant sentenced to 8 years in prison
According to Chinese anti-drug official accounts, the Fifth Intermediate People's Court of Chongqing recently concluded an appeal case of drug trafficking using the new method of "Internet + virtual currency + logistics mailing". The defendant collected funds through the virtual currency account more than 1,200 times; the collected virtual currency was transferred through multiple layers and then withdrawn to his Alipay, WeChat and bank cards, accumulating more than 400,000 yuan. The Chongqing Fifth Intermediate People's Court held that the first instance sentenced the defendant Zhang to eight years in prison and a fine of 100,000 yuan for the crime of drug trafficking and money laundering. The sentence was appropriate, and the original sentence was upheld.
