Vitalik slams Ethereum critics with'wartime status'

On October 28th, according to Kaito AI data quoted by Andy, the host of the crypto show The Rollup, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum in the "wartime state", topped the list with 1.69% of "opinion leader mind share" in the past seven days, followed by Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Helius Labs, with 1.18%. Buterin recently published a long article on the X platform defending the Ethereum Foundation's routine ETH sales, emphasizing that these sales are used to pay Ethereum developers and researchers to maintain the network's proof-of-stake mechanism, enable low fees, transaction confirmations in less than 30 seconds, zero-knowledge proofs of privacy, and keep the network running without interruption since 2016. He also called on critics to "show some respect". When asked why the Ethereum Foundation doesn't pledge all of its ETH to cover costs with proceeds rather than sell, Buterin explained that the Ethereum Foundation wants to avoid being forced to make an "official choice" in the event of a controversial hard fork. However, Buterin said the Ethereum Foundation was exploring other ways to participate in staking, including awarding grants in the form of staked ETH, allowing grant recipients to control the timing of withdrawals and retain the proceeds. He also mentioned the possibility of delegating the foundation's staking responsibilities to other organizations.
