Bezos is reluctant to endorse Democrats, 200,000 "off" The Washington Post
The Washington Post, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is understood to have cancelled its digital subscriptions after more than 200,000 people uncharacteristically refused to endorse the Democratic presidential candidate. Two people familiar with the matter said the editorial page editor of the Washington Post had drafted a statement in support of Democratic presidential candidate Harris, but failed to publish it. Four other people familiar with the matter said Bezos personally made the decision not to allow the paper to "endorse" Harris. The newspaper has endorsed Democratic presidential candidates for almost 30 consecutive years.
