Tether CEO: Tether cannot go against the US government

Paolo Ardoino, Tether's chief executive, said in an interview that the US government could "destroy" Tether with one click. So Tether cannot go against the US government. "We may not be the best at presenting ourselves, but importantly, we got the FBI into Tether's compliance system," he said. "We got the US Secret Service on board. We got a thank you letter from the Department of Justice... We think we are doing everything we can." In addition, Paolo Ardoino said the company is "doing its best" to combat the use of illicit cryptocurrencies. He added that USDT's role in illicit finance is "negligible" compared to the U.S. dollar. Ardoino said Tether has been actively frozen and blacklisted on crypto wallets, and the company works with 180 government entities worldwide.
